This is a beautiful holy relationship love story. The movie opens with Captain Colter Stevens waking up, completely disoriented, on a train. The attractive woman sitting across from him seems to know him well, but calls him by an unfamiliar name. He is shocked to realize that he is in a different man’s body. He doesn’t have a clue what is going on. She is surprised to see something fresh and spontaneous coming through him that she really likes. They are starting on a quantum journey of discovery into a deep and loving state of mind.
You are convinced by your everyday perceptions of yourself that you know the personality self that you are. Yet when you open your mind, Spirit will loosen the grip of this idea. If you think you know what’s going to make you happy, you have no clue how deep the rabbit hole goes. This movie gives opportunities to see, “Oh, I was wrong about that.” We come to see that we hold underlying grievances, and that the grievances can be healed through forgiveness.
Colter receives guidance, a specific purpose that allows him to clear his mind and focus on what is good for the whole. That is what the mind training of A Course in Miracles is about: holding a loving purpose, a peaceful purpose, a joyful purpose out front. When the Spirit takes you up in the tractor beam, you do not know what is happening. Things are going to keep falling away, because the lesson underneath this whole dream is forgiveness. And that is emptying your mind of everything you think you think and think you know about your identity so that your real Identity can be revealed to you by Spirit.
Source Code metaphysical goodie quotes:
Colter Stevens: Lily awoke in an evening dress and an opera cloak. In her hand were 5 playing cards. At some point today, you’re gonna hear about a failed terrorist attack on a commuter train near Chicago. You and I kept that bomb from going off. If you’re reading this e-mail, then Source Code works even better than you and Dr. Rutledge imagined. You thought you were creating 8 minutes of a past event, but you’re not. You’ve created a whole new world. Goodwin, if I’m right, somewhere at the Source Code facility, you have a Capt. Colter Stevens waiting to send on a mission. Promise me you’ll help him. And when you do, do me a favor: tell him everything is gonna be okay.
Dr. Rutledge: Source Code is not time travel. Rather, Source Code is time reassignment. It gives us access to a parallel reality.
