Prayer—The Medium of Miracles
“I went inside, into deeper prayer, I saw that really the best way of praising my Creator was to be in alignment with my Creator…to love like my Creator, to be free like my Creator, to extend joy like my Creator. The best way of praising the Creator is saying, ‘Hey I am just like you created me. I am not going to try to make myself into something different, I am going to be as you created me to be.'” ~David Hoffmeister

MWGE Movie Review Excerpt
This is a movie about hope, prayer, and purpose. Has the word prayer ever been used this much in a movie? A young boy with a terminal illness starts writing letters to God as a form of prayer. He encourages everyone around him to do the same, and in doing so, minds are turned towards God as a source of comfort and communication.
The boy’s letters are given to the local postman, who is going through his own life struggles. After asking the local pastor what to do with the letters, he is told that they are part of his own journey with God. The healing is for all, and the desire for healing and connection with God radiates out, inspiring the whole community.

Emotions/Themes: Prayer, Authority Problem, Free Will, Anger, Temptation, Victimization, Projection, Miracles, Power of Thought
MWGE Excerpt: Bruce sees himself as a victim of the world. He believes he is unrecognized in his career, overshadowed by his colleague and unappreciated by his girlfriend. Feeling that he’s the victim of a cruel God, he blames God and rages at Him. Finally, in desperation, Bruce pleads to God for guidance and a miracle. God responds, but Bruce refuses to notice. So God appears to him and grants His power to Bruce. Bruce comes to see that his efforts aimed at trying to get more for himself merely reinforce his belief in lack, that his life does not have a meaningful purpose.
Emotions/Themes: Devotion, Prayer, Faith, Inspiration, Dare to Take Step, Guilt, Wake-Up Call, Dropping the Mask, Mighty Companions
MWGE Excerpt: Silence is a still joy. It’s not based on anything in form. That’s the letting go and getting still that Father Thomas Keating talks about in this documentary of his life. We are all connected in that silence beyond the words. In that silence, miracles happen. Be still and know—know that you don’t know anything. It’s a constant letting go and beginning again. The silence is a gift for us to remember and rest in God.
Emotions/Themes: Anger, Addiction, Marriage, Temptation, Devotion, Mind Training, Prayer, Vigilance, Fear of commitment
MWGE Excerpt: The ego is a belief in lack. If you believe that something in this world will give you anything or make you happy, you will suffer. It is not possible. You were created to extend that which you are. Nothing else. Caleb believes he is a “hero” everywhere in his life, except in his marriage, where he feels distant, unloved and unloving. Whatever you feel is lacking in a situation is what you need to bring to it.

Desire Peace with All Your Heart
It comes back to the question of desire. Your desire is prayer. And when you have multiple desires, you have multiple prayers. As long as you have multiple desires, you cannot really claim that you want the peace of God. As long as you want many different things, you cannot really want to know God. Because God is One, God is Love, and Peace, and Joy. And when you want other things, you don’t want that one thing.
