Movie Watching for the Celestial Speed-Up ~ David Hoffmeister on How to Use Hollywood Movies for a Spiritual Awakening Experience

~ Celestial Speed-Up with David Hoffmeister ~

By watching your emotions during a movie and releasing what is arising, you can save time in this awakening process. You don't have to play everything out in a linear manner in what seems to be a three-dimensional world. By using these top spiritual movies in this way, time can actually collapse into the quantum field or what we call quantum awareness.

In watching movies we can gather insight into the alternate story the ego concocted—that time and space—is one, big, elaborate, illusory dream. One that, in fact, we had no idea that we were participating in. While only the truth is true, it seems that we need tools to undo this ego invention.

The  path of peace and salvation need not be one of pain. In fact, we can use entertainment as a means to undo guilt. After all, as A Course in Miracles says, “Into eternity, where all is one, there crept a tiny, mad idea, at which the Son of God remembered not to laugh.T-27.VIII.6.

Instead of self-flagellation, the Course strongly suggests we take a light-hearted approach to salvation, joyfully laughing along the way, and what better way than through the illustrative medium of film, which lends itself to many profound “ah-ha” moments!

Jesus shared his profound wisdom, light, and love through the use of parables, because he wanted people to be able to relate to his teachings. Movies are modern-day parables. Watching movies is an enjoyable way to wake up and heal. It is not as threatening as being, for example, in a family situation or confrontational relationship. Movies can help to “collapse time” in the sense that they can be used to get in touch with the unconscious in an experiential way.

Spirit showed me techniques for watching movies in a new way—not as entertainment or escapism, but as a way in which people could allow intense emotions to arise for healing. When I hold movie gatherings, I don’t show movies straight through because they can trigger memories and emotions that have been repressed and denied. I pause the film when people have these intense emotions come up so that we can be present with whatever is arising for healing in the moment. It’s important to realize that the subconscious has to come up. We welcome the feelings so that they can be released for healing, and a new perspective can come in. When invited, Spirit provides a safe presence for the subconscious to arise without any judgment.
