I See Only My Greatest Hits
“Imagine only watching those moments of bursting happiness and joy in your life. That prayer ‘I see only my greatest hits’ is collapsing time. It’s collapsing the progression of images from the past and choosing to see with the perception of the moment.”
David Hoffmeister Your MWGE Guide
MWGE Movie Review Excerpt
Just like Phil in Groundhog Day, Sam keeps reliving the same day over and over again. She experiences all the emotions typically experienced in the human condition, and she sees the futility of trying to make a better life by changing something in form. When the ego’s purpose is followed, there is no sustained happiness here because this world is a projection of the dark thoughts in the mind.
The value of movies like this is that they raise into awareness the most practical question to ask in regard to anything we do: “What is it for?” With each passing day, Sam starts to question why she and her friends do what they are so habituated to doing. The invitation of the Holy Spirit is to slow down and step back from these meaningless and repetitive interactions and busy doings and see the shining needle in the haystack, the present moment.
More Great Looping Movies
Emotions/Themes:Death, Awakening, Inspiration, Deception, Time, Pride, Purpose, Letting go of Specialness, The Script is Written
Excerpt: The world of time repeats over and over in a loop from which there seems to be no escape. Routines, activities and rituals follow predictable patterns, which seem to lead in endless circles back to themselves. All attempts to escape this void seem futile. Yet, when the desire to be helpful awakens, the world is given a new purpose. Instead of focusing on escaping, we simply desire to extend and give love to everyone we meet.
Emotions/Themes: Acceptance, Purpose, Wake-Up Call, Opening up to Love, Letting Go of Control, Time, Miracles, Present Moment, Happiness
Excerpt: At the start of this movie, the main character is only concerned with,”What is in it for me?” She is in pain because she can’t get what she wants no matter how hard she tries. But as soon as she realizes the love that is right in front of her and how blessed she truly is, she steps into her function of extending and giving, with no expectation of anything in return.
Emotions/Themes: Present Moment, Vigilance, Forgiveness, Time, Faith, Death, Purpose, Mind Training, Collaboration, Protectionism
Excerpt: Cage’s initial resistance to stepping into his new function is high, because he has no idea of his potential or that he is the savior of the world. Coming from an advertising background, and never having encountered combat training, the only function he has had in the army is based on selling ideas through manipulation. And now it is all about action and follow through. Listen and follow through, or die.

The Issue Isn’t the Body, the Problem Is Linear Time, the Great Deceiver
Every single regret you have ever had is related to the past, something the body didn’t do but should have done. No one has ever had a future worry that wasn’t related to the body. But the issue is never the body, because the body is neutral. The problem is linear time, which is the great deceiver.
There is No Sentimentality or Goodbyes in the Holy Instant
In A Course in Miracles, Jesus says that everything you experience, in this world and really the whole universe, is the result of your decision. Jesus says you may believe that this is all too encompassing to be the truth, but then he goes onto say that truth has no exceptions. There are no exceptions to this magnitude, to this glory. You may have pushed this truth out of awareness and you may have unconscious beliefs that are telling you it is different from that, but it does not change the truth of the power of the mind.
It is very common on the spiritual journey to feel a sense of loss or sadness, if it’s perceived that something valuable is being left behind. It is a sense of sentimentality. Sometimes it’s a great experience associated with a particular person or place, and it becomes sentimental. But the holy instant and the present moment are not sentimental at all. It is just glory, glory, glory. The holy instant never says goodbye. It is just saying, “I am here, I am here! I love you! I am you! There is nothing else but us!” And this moment is so happy, so joyful, because there are no goodbyes in the holy instant.
