“Literally a Life Raft Out of this World!”
“If you were on a desert island and could request one movie, this would be the one to ask for! Solaris is a beautiful illustration of True Forgiveness.”
David Hoffmeister
Movie Review
The planet Solaris is the representation of abstract Love, Light, and Oneness. One of the most well-known passages in the Course states, “The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance.” (In-1) Since Oneness is realized by looking at and releasing false ego beliefs, Solaris reflects whatever issues are unresolved and unforgiven in the unconscious mind. It pushes up all of the darkness—the blocks to Love’s awareness—so that they may be healed.
Read Before Movie
This movie will show that people aren’t people. They’re just partial memories. That’s what relationships are in this world. When you have a relationship with someone, all you’re doing is looking at your past memories. And the person you seem to have a relationship with is just acting out unresolved issues from the past. So whatever you perceive as lacking in the relationship are just partial memories, you’re not really seeing you or the other person as whole. There is no forgiveness in partial memories. The only way to come back to the Christ is to empty your mind of all the partial memories. One exercise to empty your mind is when you meet somebody, meet them as if you know nothing about them, because that literally clears the mind of all the past memories. This movie shows the “how” of letting go to merge into the experience of forgiveness.
Read After Movie
What is this movie showing us? That there is nothing outside of you. The quantum field is totally unified and there is no time and space component to it. So if someone asks you if there’s life after death, what do you say? “We don’t have to think like that anymore.” The idea of life after death is just faulty thinking. There’s no “afterlife.” You start to see that everything is completely unified and there’s no where to go. If you really understood this, what an impact it would have on your experience! What would you honestly have to be afraid of? Think of how this might experientially affect your whole life. You could live as if there is no world, knowing that you’re purely the Light. Forever.

Meditation on Sacred Sexuality as a Stepping Stone To Releasing All Expectations, Needs & Desires
Deep meditation on Sacred Sexuality, taken from the profound book Awakening through A Course In Miracles by David Hoffmeister. “Sacred sexuality” as a practice, can be thought of as spontaneous expressions of affection that are prompted from and guided by the Spirit with the sole purpose of undoing the belief in linear time. They are prompts that come from the willingness to listen and follow and flow with the Spirit as a reflection of the lesson: I will step back and let Him lead the way. (W-155)
Because of the shared obedience to follow the guidance of Spirit, “sacred sexuality” is a stepping stone on the way to releasing all expectations, needs, and desires; approaching the purity of heart Jesus spoke of in the Sermon on the Mount. Spontaneity based in following guidance, rather than the counterfeit impulsivity of the ego, is a way of placing the mind under the direction of the Spirit and allowing the mind to be used for miracles, which are natural expressions of love.

Blog Looks Closer At Top Movies
MWGE’s free weekly movie blog takes a closer look at the top spiritual movies. David has used the movie, The Matrix, as a metaphor in many gatherings because it reflects all of the essential elements and symbols of waking from the dream of the world. All three Matrix movies have been brought together in a mini-movie format titled, Matrix Redux. This mini-movie highlights scenes on the importance of following guidance, the need for mind training, transcending limiting beliefs through love, seeing the futility of violence, taking responsibility for the acceptance of the Atonement, and freedom from the need to control. Unlimited plan subscribers can find Matrix Redux and Matrix Redux with commentary within The Matrix movie review on MWGE.org.
